If you like to see Historical pictures of the county you live in or your hometown is in.......here are some of them.
I don't know if this all of the counties, but there are 80 of them on this site.

Well, if I had time, it would be a great puzzle to figure out which three counties are missing. This is a great site, thanks for sharing; but, one word of caution. When Michigan became a state not all the counties were laid out. And even once they were, they were often attached to another county seat in another county until it was settled enough and had sufficient population to warrent having its own county government. For example, at one time most of NE Michigan was part of Cheboygen county because the area around Fort Michilimachinaw was already established. Eventually Alpena and Presque Isle counties were separated, but Montmorency county was still part of Alpena county until 1881 when its population finally grew enough to warrent its own county seat (which originally was in Hillman and not Atlanta). It might be a good idea to look in the files for the surrounding counties, as some of these old photos may be mismarked by today's standards. Again, a great site.

What other county is closest to you?

There was a time when many areas were considered Townships before they became county property.

Some may have been renamed?

Default Nice website

Thanks for posting the link to the website, mkfarnam.

I remember St. Joseph Hospital from my days at Flint JC. Now the hospital is gone and I believe the land was used for the expansion of Mott CC.

I lived downtown Flint, and my mother and I would walk to the old public library, often with a stop at the Karmelkorn shop on the way home.

It's my pleasure, if you dig deeper on that site you will find old state & county files.
