Yesterday on the radio I heard a song for the first time which I really liked. Was driving from Detroit to Alpena and this was on some (unknown) station from Saginaw or Bay City so I can't call to find out about it. The part of the lyrics I remember went something like this:

Christmas is the best time of the year,
And the best Christmas is a Michigan Christmas

I tried googling the lyrics, no luck.

The announcer said it was performed by the Meijer Choir, which I assumed was spelled M-e-i-j-e-r. I tried googling Meijer Choir, no luck.

I tried googling M-e-i-r Choir, no luck.

I tried googling M-a-y-e-r Choir, no luck.

How many more ways are there to spell Meijer/Meir/Mayer?

If someone knows this song and could direct me to some info, it would really make my Christmas.

Bless you, moldman, any idea where I can purchase a copy? I am also trying to find links to a couple of Karen Newman songs, Christmas Eve on Woodward Ave., and What Christmas Means to Me. Want to e-mail links to my Coastie in Alaska. He and his wife are missing Michigan for Christmas.

Hmmm...I'm not sure you can physically buy it, but you can get it here free, which is basically what I posted. Not sure of the other songs you mentioned.

I'm not sure of your location , but you can buy individual Karen Newman tunes at ITunes , amazon.com or the whole CD at those places . Karen has a MySpace website where you can listen to the tunes you mentioned , and just about any store that sells music should have her CD's
in the detroit area . Good luck ! Oh and I think she is having a Christmas show at one of the Adiamo's this Thursday & Friday , and she usually has her CD's for sale at her appearances .
