a Vietnam vet that served prior to the FALL of SAIGON 30 April 1975
tells me they had to push the helicopters right off the aircraft carrier into the sea
but he was in Vietnam a few years before the Fall of Saigon? during the 1960's, he said he was there when they pushed the aircraft off the side of the aircraft carrier? he said he had to help push them off the side.
he says was in the US Army "Motor T" and was shot by a VC sniper and other war stories
sounds like bs to me, Im pretty sure they didnt dump the hueys into the sea until the evacuation to make room for the refugees

Operation Frequent Wind 1975
They not only pushed Hueys into the sea, but Chinooks and other ACFT as well.....
I'm at work right now, but I know there are many pictures showing this....
I thought they had to push them off to make room for the evacuations. It was not a big secret that they did this.
Heck we dumped over a million dollars worth of bearings and repair parts when we came back from our last med on the USS AMerica. They told us that anything left on the ship we had to carry down the pier by hand. needless to say nothing passed the float test lol

There is a whole lot of truth to this. There is an unbelieveable amount of things that have been scuttled at sea and buried at bases all over the world before we got enviormentally concious. Check out the link below for nuclear dumping:
Timeline is wrong and the guy maybe BS'ing, but it still stands that the armed forces dumped hardware 24/7 just to get rid of it before we got green.
I was only out on a vessel once (10 days in 94) and was amazed at much crap we dumped overboard. Nothing near the level of a helicopter, of course.
