Well done to this young bloke in losing all that weight to join the British army.

He obviously already has some skills that will serve him well in the Army-- commitment and determination.

I know this kind of story, at one time I knew a young man (namely me), who used to weigh 375 pounds. I went to the Army recruiter in Ft Myers Florida and asked to join the Army. he looked at me and told me to come back when I lost some weight fat boy.
just about 1 year later in 1983, I went back to the same Army recruiter and asked the same recruiter if I could join the Army after losing 209 pounds. after weighing me, I almost could not get in for weighing too little at 6'4" tall.

I lost 209 pounds to get into the Army in 1983. I went from 375 to 166 in 1 year.

Good for him My husband lost 70 lbs prior to joining the Marine Corps, and another 20 lbs during Boot Camp. It's definitely determination that's for sure!
