Honoring 1941 - One of 92 flags and leis (A Polynesian garland of flowers) adorn the gravesite of Army Air Forces Private First
Class Richard E. Livingston, of the 5th Bomb Group, Hickam Field at the National Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl in Honolulu to
honor of his sacrifice as he was killed during the December 7th, 1941, attacks on Oahu. Jessie Higa, volunteer historian and
president of the Hickam History Club, directed a team of volunteers December 2nd, 2012, to honor the men who were killed on that
infamous day. Higa and a team of teenagers from a local school started placing flags last year as a community service project.

National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day 71St Anniversary - USS Tucson (SSN-770) a "Los Angeles-class submarine",
performs a pass and review during a December 7th, 2012, remembrance ceremony marking the 71st anniversary of the attack on
Pearl Harbor and the island of Oahu, at the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument, and the USS Arizona Memorial in
Honolulu. On the morning of December 7th, 1941 a surprise attack by the Imperial Japanese Navy against U.S. Pacific Forces on the
Hawaiian Islands thrust the United States in World War II. The attack lasted 110 minutes, from 7:55 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. A total of
2,335 U.S. servicemen were killed and 1,143 were wounded.
