I suggested she could get to a Target much easier and less expensively (even Super Target). She proceeded to remind me she's from the south and she hates Target...go figure, huh?
I am moving to the Twin Cities in August and I was born & raised in the south. Not all southerners "love" Wal-Mart. I "love" Target and avoid Wal-Mart at all costs.

The Target/Walmart rivalry is overrated considering the two don't even share the same target demographic anymore. Walmart targets families with a household income of under 60k while Target mainly caters to those with a household income of over 60k.

I'd agree about lakes, if lakes weren't so unbelievably underrated! I miss them DEARLY!

You must have had a long-lost relative that was a Yankee? Of course, I must have had some southern blood somehow...I love Waffle Houses and Chick-Fil-A's...

I'd agree the demographics are different, not only to income but probably other factors. That said, TP is TP and laundry soap is laundry soap.

Also, the two have been known to threaten lawsuits on the other over things like slogans and who has the lowest prices.

Well I'm married to a "yankee" from Boston so maybe that's it.

And you gotta love Chick-Fil-A!

Chic-Fil-A is the best. Haven't had it in over a month. Went to school in NC and could not have enough of it, back here in MN I miss it. Although I hear there is one down by the U?

I think Minneapolites have a big thing with Target, Lake Calhoun, lakes in general, the IDS Tower, and of course... Mall of America.

Before I lived here and I'd meet people from Minneapolis some would say, "Oh sure, where you live is nice but we have all the lakes and Mall of America. Oh and Duluth is only 3 hours away."

There is a "Chick-Fil-A Express" in Coffman Union on campus. They have the basic sandwiches and waffle fries, though not the full menu. You and I will have to resort to that location until we can each make it to at least Indianapolis (or there abouts...)

What a ridiculous statement -- who would brag about MOA or Duluth.....unless that person were from upstate and not from the city maybe.
