Taco Blas on 38th & Nicollet South is our fav. We only do take out as service is not the best at times.
If you move to the city proper do lots of research and stay out of most areas of North Mpls. There are also certain areas of South Mpls. you want to avoid as well. (Due to my job, I'm well informed about crime in the Minneapolis area. Don't know much about St. Paul.) Also, I've lived on 5th & Newton No., Penn & Glenwood North plus 31st & Portland South, so with that said, I've experienced many interesting situations in my day!

My son attended Emerson Spanish Immersion School K-8 and is fluent in Spanish. Emerson is located near downtown by Loring Park and is a great school even with the recent budget/teacher cuts. A coworker has an 8th grader still attending Emerson and raves about the program. I believe Robbinsdale also has a Spanish Immersion elementery school but not sure.

My son is currently attending SouthWest High which has a great reputation. Edina, Hopkins, Apple Valley, and most other suburbs have awesome schools from what I hear. You should be able to research them on the internet.
Minneapolis is an awesome city - I doubt I'll ever leave the city proper.

My husband started new job in Plymouth on Monday, and I am going to visit this weekend. Can you tell me what to pack? I live in Dallas, TX, so t-shirt is fine here, but not sure if I need big parka, or light jacket...Also - I want to look at some house in Plymouth that falls into Wayzata School district...Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch

It looks like sunny and 65° right now. Most Minnesotans will be in shorts/t-shirt but my guess is that will be too cold for you to wear shorts??
