It took me about 10 minutes at around 9am today. Luckily I arrived just before a shuttle bus from a nursing home pulled up. If I was behind them I probably would have been waiting much longer.

The lines would probably move twice as fast if they replaced those ball point pens with black sharpies. The bubbles would be filled much faster.

Got to our new precinct site, had to wait for 4 people in line, all were at the wrong precinct site. Got my ballot, took about 3 minutes, we had black sharpies . I was #400 earlier this morning.

Based on my Facebook feed updates from those in the Twin Cities, I'm hearing everything from five minutes or less to two hours today. (I did absentee, so no lines for me this time around)

It was about a 15 min wait at one of the places at the U earlier this morning. Now it looks about 30.

I was #21 and in and out in less than 5 minutes in Podunk and although the machine balked at accepting my ballot initially, once I cried out that I was being disenfranchised, they rushed to my aid and things then went smoothly through.

I thought the exact same thing!

Our precinct took about 45 minutes in mid-morning. There were two main hang ups. First, a lot of us had been redistricted and didnt understand that two different precincts voted in different rooms in the same building, so there was a lot of confusion around that. Then for our precinct, there was a long line to the table where they had the poll books because, although they had signs for each poll book, A-F, G-L, etc., there was only one line to the table. People had to stand in that one line until it was our turn, and then walk up to one of four different places at the table to sign the poll book because they didn't leave enough room for more than one line. It was the goofiest arrangement I had ever seen.

I want election periods of 2-3 days. Our country acts like voting needs to be a sacrifice. Then it pretends to be upset when it doesn't get the turnout of other countries. There's a powerful minority that really doesn't want turnout. And they block reforms that would make voting easy. But those people aren't as powerful in Minnesota as in other places.

You have over a week to vote don't you?
Just go and get your self a absentee ballot
Then go for a drive in the countryside on election day and relax.
