I am on a quest with a friend for the best patty melts in Minnesota. Any suggestions? We will be happy to report our findings.

Thanks.

No problem, papa's is great in that it epitomizes a neighborhood restaurant, and you don't find that type of vibe much anywhere, and it has great food.

there have been a lot of great posts/ suggestions here (i actually saved everything on this post in a word document for later reference when going out), and a lot of posts that I tend to agree with...although I've been there a few times, I remembered just how much I like the greasy/ dirty Wienery the other day when I went - not the best on your heart, but great on your wallet - cheaper than fast food.

Has anybody been to Psycho Suzi's on Lowry and Marshall in Northeast Minneapolis? I saw it on that "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" show recently and thought that it looked interesting.

Been there several times - it has good food, the drink menu is a lot bigger than the actual food menu, and to my knowledge they have pizza, a few picks for sandwiches, and an appetizer menu. It does have a nice atmosphere, the outdoor patio is enjoyable in the summer time. Although the food is relatively reasonable, I always walk away from here wondering how our bill ended up so high - they make a lot of fru-fru drinks that are spendy, so beware of these (or persons in your party ordering these) if you go.

Psycho Suzis is awesome. One of my favorite bars...they make this garlic cheese bread thats amazing. Havent had a full meal but yeah, great place to drink in the summer.

Oh, El-Amins Fish House is good. Broadway and Penn...not the best area, but cheap tasty seafood to go.

The restaurant is called The Backstreet Grill on the Northwest corner of Plato Blvd. and Robert Street S. The address is 193-195 Robert Street South.
There is a review here http://loupeggy.com/Backstreet_Grill.html (broken link) and they have a website at http://www.backstreetgrillandpizzeria.com/

Cafe Latte is so popular that the best time to go is 4:30-5:15 daily. They do have good salads, delicious pastries and good soups and bread!
