I moved to Minneapolis two years ago and have been renting an apt. in Linden Hills. I'm now thinking of buying a place. I love Linden Hills, but I can't afford to buy anything here. I have always loved living in the city and I want to live in an area with cute old homes. Unfortunately I have two obstacles. 1) My office is moving to Eden Prairie next year (62 & Shady Oak) and 2) I have a problem with airplane noise. Can anyone recommend for me a cute neighborhood with old homes (I love bungalows) and a sense of community that isn't too horrible a commute and doesn't have too much airplane noise? I can't go much over $225,000, so I doubt I'll find something that has been "sound proofed." Thanks!

Maybe Hopkins? It's a bit farther west, cute downtown area, bungalows and reasonably priced. It's also closer to EP.
