What's your favorite "hidden gem" in the Twin Cities? It could be a restaurant, thing to do, place to go, etc. I'm a long time resident, so I've already conquered many of the better known things to do in the Twin Cities (i.e.MOA, chain of lakes, Minnehaha Falls....), hence why I'm looking for new ideas that I may not have thought of.

Just to kick it off, a few that come to mind for me:
-Vermillion Falls (Hastings)
- 9 Mile Creek (Bloomington)
- Willow Falls (Hudson)
- Red Barn Pizza Farm (wednesday nights, Northfield)

Finally went to Bills Imported Foods at Lake/Lyndale. Wow. So much deliciousness at reasonable prices. Bought chocolate from Croatia, olives, Greek olive oil. Going to go back for some Bende and Teli salami and Feta. Parking is a pain, but well worth it. Maybe not super hidden, but it's a bit nondescript, so I frequently drove by and kept forgetting to stop in, but will be back soon.
Harriet Brasserie, again not hidden, maybe more underappreciated= I love Tilia and it gets a lot of love, but practically next door and also really, really good is Harriet Brasserie.

south of the airport behind where you park to watch the planes, there is a spillway that handles the AC condensate from the airport and passes through a long, long culvert underneath 494. If you plug up the upper end of the culvert with a sheet of 4 X 8 plywood you can hold back a great deal of water as it fills up the open spillway above. You and a few of your buds then lay on your backs inside the culvert while one other pulls the plywood out of the way, you and your buds proceed to get shot through the culvert like a missile before being ejected in a graceful arc into Long Meadow Lake...

looks like they may have changed the configuration around a bit, but it will probably still work

Fairy Falls in Stillwater. There are no signs for it, just a random dirt path off a road.

I always thought Pike Island and Crosby Farm in St. Paul were kind of neat and secluded. Good for a day hike and you feel like you are in the wilderness (other than hearing jets take off from the airport once in a while).

My wife and I just dropped by there the other day after like six months, and they must be doing pretty well because the place was like 3x the size that it used to be! Good for them, because they've got the best cinnamon rolls and chai tea in the Cities.

Pike Island and the woods around Fort Snelling are like the countryside but in the city.
