The residential areas in and around Dinkytown and further on SE University and SE 4th ST down to Central. But, students live all over the city as most of the colleges are considered commuter (even though they have dorms). I would say that South Minneapolis and S.E. Minneapolis probably have the largest concentrations.

Uptown is over by Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles, whereas Dinkytown is right on the U of MN campus, Cedar Riverside is on the West Bank of the campus and Seward and Stevens are close by there too. Uptown is probably 3-4 miles away (and may be too pricey for most college students too).

Ohh.. I think I found something! Nick Is Rulz thanks for the suggestions. I looked at all of them, and Cedar Riverside is something that sounds interesting and realistic to my needs. Jenlee, that is good advice, uptown would definately be too expensive.

I looked at Cedar Riverside apartments and came up with this site : Riverside Plaza-Home

...And it has various buslines and so it would be easy to get me to downtown everyday. Thus, saving gas money and a great way to save me from getting lost also. lol.

So, I will definately have some questions about riverside plaza apartments in the future. Thanks. I'll probably be asking them later today.

You don't want to live in the riverside plaza. It is not a nice complex. If I remember correctly you are not going to the U of M but one of the tech colleges, right? Which campus are you attending?

I tried contacting the Riverside Plaza and they still haven't responded to the email I sent like 6 months ago. You pretty much have to be on assisted living to get in there to my understanding. A gal I spoke with who teaches at the school inside one of the buildings said that the population of those apartment buildings is basically 100% Somali.
