I might be moving to the Twin Cities to attend a community college. Does anyone have any experience or advice about Minneapolis Community and Technical College or St. Paul College? What's the reputation of them? What programs are strongest at either of the two - what are each known for?

Thanks for any help or info.

I spent a few semesters in a certificate program at St Paul College a year ago. Maybe you should tell us what kinds of things you're looking for -- like which programs you're interested in, what kind of services/activities you'd want, etc. I mean, MCTC has some programs that St Paul College doesn't and vice versa. Also, if you plan on transferring to a 4-year school, my impression is that MCTC would be a better fit for that in general, especially if you're going into a liberal arts program. St Paul College offers liberal arts classes, but it is primarily a trade-oriented school.

I see. Yes, now that I've looked at both colleges, I get the impression MCTC is more liberal arts and St. Paul is more trade skill oriented.

I'm looking at the IT, Biotech, and Engineering Tech programs. BTW - what are some strong or in-demand (growing) industries/occupations in the Twin City area?

Thanks!

Thanks!
