Not a baseball fan, same for football (Give Blood, Play hockey ), I am wondering how to keep busy during the long cold winter. I am not looking for a "go to the mall" advice, I get bored after 5 minutes.
We are two adults in their 50's, quite active in biking and hiking, but that would obviously not be possible in the winter.
So how do you avoid getting stuck at home over the weekend munching all day?

Cross-country skiing! It's a relatively cheap investment, low impact, great exercise, and let you see some gorgeous scenery.

I am usually out exploring the 20,000+ miles of snowmobile trails in the state.

I meet many more people over 50 years old while out snowmobiling.

Why is hiking and biking not possible in the winter?

Skating and cross-country skiing, plus going for walks in the snow. There's also shoveling snow to keep you in shape! I also work out at a health club.
My wife and I occasionally will also go out dancing.

I like cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. I also like to go to some of the ice festivals and the pond hockey tournaments. I live in western Minnesota, though, so I don't always get to get to those events.

We've gone Geocaching in the winter. That's a lot of fun.

Snowshoeing is fun too. Most of the county parks rent equipment so you can try it out before you buy. A good old snowball fight is a lot of fun too.

Kebinminn, where have you gone geocaching at in the wintertme. You are right its alot of fun, and in most cases adds to the difficulty, when digging in the snow bank

That can be fun. We've just hit some local parks, the caches were simple, our son was preschool aged at the time. That's one thing I love about Geocaching, it's flexible. We got away from it but are getting back into it this year.
