I'm all for the bleacher section. You market it as the Tough Guy Terrace. You charge premium prices to cram on to metal bleachers. On the sidelines, a snow making machine will lob snow on this section for all games played after November 1st while the corporate crowd sits in the comfort of 72 degrees and cushioned seats.

I'll probably be the first one to make a season ticket deposit.

Old school, but with new school prices.

People aren't going to pay top-dollar for bleacher seating. Heck, most people don't want to pay bottom-dollar for bleachers. That's why you go to a Gopher or Saints game. It's the MLB. It's the Big-Show baby, and our now-pampered style of society wouldn't sit in bleachers for free. I mean that's really why.

I love sitting in both left field and right field bleachers. They do hurt a bit more on your bottom and lower back, and they get very hot in summer and very cold when it's even kinda cold. But I would love to be packed into a place like the Met half hammered off my head in the freezing cold bleachers with the other creatures cheering for the Purple People Eaters! That would be soo fun!

It sounds like the governor is starting to realize that he was sold a bill of goods by the Vikings. What a shock.

Though I do appreciate the Governor's assertive tone, it's a little disingenuous for him to imply that it wasn't always going to be a rich people's stadium. I would be shocked if you could buy a ticket for under $100 after this place opens.

The whole London thing infuriates me. It's the NFL, not the IFL. The whole reason they play in London is because the NFL makes more money by doing it.

I suspect the governor heard from some disgruntled season ticket holders. In hindsight, I imagine that Dayton and the legislature are realizing that the agreement should have included specifics on how the Vikings acquire their share of the cost.

The whole idea of a "people's stadium" was, from my understanding, in relation to the facility's use for non-Viking events and functions. This wouldn't be affected in any way by seat licenses for Viking games.

my understanding is that it is up to Dayton's appointed Stadium Authority to approve the seat licenses. In any case it was never a question of if there would be licenses but only the extent and cost of them. Didn't here anybody beotching about them when they were being talked about as a source of the state revenue...what a shock indeed.

btw, most every stadium recently built has had seat licenses implemented including TCF Staium, Target Field and even as part of the Williams Arena remodel.

the whole premise of them playing home games in London is a non-issue other than giving the trampled over stadium opponents something else to complain about.

Oh, I'll not deny that I think the whole thing was ill conceived, but you'll find no complaint in my post, just some amusement that only now is Dayton realizing that the Vikings will try to find wiggle room in their agreement.

from a fan's stand point is probably a non-starter and for most of us the only difference is this particular game may not be a real home field advantage, the season ticket holders will have an opportunity to turn a profit on their seats or have a nice excuse to visit London.

I do see why the state/city would look at it as a negative because of the loss of tax/sales/game day revenue, after-all it was the crux of the Vikings sales pitch of the stadium benefit to the state. My guess is the state will look for a piece of the London pie butthat seems to have been negotiated up front.

the Vikings are angling for more than a single London game, especially during the TCF Stadium banishment era coming up in a couple of years. Wembley seats over 100K, TCF...not so much.

A non-issue except that it's 1/8th the yearly gameday revenue of bars, restaurants, hotels, etc., that armchair economists so emphatically and matter-of-factly assured us would benefit from a new stadium.
