I once saw 4 drunk Elks stumble out of Rik's in downtown Minneapolis.

I saw 7 last year. 3 while driving and 4 in a canoe. 3 of the 7 were newborn calves.

Not in Minnesota, but in Canada. We were somewhere north of Edmonton at a cabin, I woke up in the morning to a moose eating a shrubbery and taking a massive dump on the lawn at the same time. Great multi-taskers they are.

Wildlife are cute and wonderful. Till they decide your lawn is as good a place as anywhere to relieve themselves.

One just south of Ely about 10 years ago and one at a NWR north of Thief River Falls about 6 years ago - both cows.

I live by Grand Rapids, and came within 20 yards of hitting a bull moose one night a few years ago.

I've seen two.

The first was near Grand Portage right off Hwy 61. I was blown away at its size. We could have driven our pickup underneath it. At least it seemed that big.

The second one was while canoeing in the BWCA East of Grand Marais about 30 or so miles. It was waist deep in the water not more than 20 feet from us. Amazing animals.
