Don't come to Iuka, Mississippi, that is if your looking for a financial future, there is no such thing here! I wouldn't live here myself except for the fact that I'm self employed and my clients are mostly out-of-state, where the pay scale affords my services. Also, the only activity that's here is mostly sitting at the Pig or Walmart parking lot. The whole county is dry, but the surrounding area, including TN and AL, are wet, which is where and who gets the sin tax from many of those living in Iuka, makes a lot of since if you like drunks DRIVING in out of town to get the booze!

Default Pronunciation of "Iuka"

Just curious, how is "Iuka" pronounced? Like eye-you'-ka with the accent on the second syllable?

Donna cupido went missing from Iuka in 2004 and little was done to find her. I think that this town sucks just because of that. So many leads so many people that care yet so easily pushed aside. She was a caring lady from Canada and many people want answers. Their police dept. sucks. She just didn't get up and walk away. Some crazy predator is alive and well in Iuka. awaiting another innocent victim.

That's unfair. Donna's husband was given a polygraph test, and so was the man she was having an affair with. The authorities in Iuka and the state searched and investigated, her profile was put on Missing Adult websites and bulletins, but Donna was last seen alive in Cherokee, AL at The Wooden Nickel Restaurant.

It may not have been someone from Iuka that abducted her. I know a woman who was abducted as a teenager in Batesville, but it was by an escaped convict from Louisiana. She was forced to drive at gunpoint 250 miles from home, bandage his wounds, and watched as the man shot his girlfriend in the face and later turned the gun on himself. Luckily, she survived the ordeal, but not everyone is found no matter how much you search.
