Although I can agree she did just come out of nowhere, you don't know for sure what will happen with the Metrocenter....I guess we will find out. I remember when I was a kid growing up and how that West Jackson area was once booming. I'm just waiting to hear what kind of stores have committed to opening there.

They need to put an MLB Youth Academy there.

Interesting thread. I’m not from that area but would like to know how the area has changed over 35 years. Is it no longer booming and or as safe? I’ve heard of a few malls across the country that have closed down for various reasons.

Unfortunately, it is not looking like a good start.

That's not much of a surprise to most of us.

It's always fascinating to me how these people, who develop a reputation, continue to be able to 'make moves'. Everybody knows who they are. It's like they go out of their way to do sleazy things when it would easier to get something done by doing it the right way. Why do people keep loaning them money? They must be extremely charismatic, that's the only thing I can come up with. The development industry is full of these types.

Yep. Got it right back in February, didn't you?
I am not familiar with Jackson, but I am always interested in hustlers and this lady is a hustler.
She may actually be going to jail for this one, since she is already on parole for similar moves.

It's sad. There is opportunity all over America and no need to take money from innocent people. Emily Sieferth Sanders is Black and reportedly accuses all who challenge her of racism. That probably won't work this time.

It's typical to play the race card when there's no racism involved.

Unfortunately, the metro center deal is becoming what most expected.

Selling the MetroCenter to someone who's been convicted before of fraud and could have served years in jail? What could have possibly gone wrong with that idea?
