Any nurses who work for the Mississippi health department? I am an RN who used to work for the Memphis/Shelby County health department. I had to leave my position because I moved out of Shelby county (live in Horn Lake). I recently applied for a nursing position for the state. My question is, are the benefits for working with the state good?

Thanks

Nightfall

I used to work at Baptist (East). It was horrible. I had 14 patients (night shift). I was putting my license on the line. I'm not sure if Baptist Desoto is any better.

My wife used to work at Baptist Central before they shut it down and it was bad there too. She then made the move to Baptist-Collierville which was a HUGE improvement. You are probably right that Desoto is not great. If you could stand the commute maybe check out Collierville.
