Miller Creek, the upper reaches anyway, is pretty desolate. At least the last time I drove up there. 'Frenchtown Valley' is just an extension of the river valley that flows through Missoula and, while smaller in population, it shares the same atmospheric conditions.

Yes, we like our cars and pickups here and you'll be sucking exhaust fumes most everywhere you bike. Sorry!

Even with the fires, wood smoke is a cleaner smoke than cities, etc. Unless a fire is real close, it wont impact most people's day to day lives.
