Good morning, everyone!
I44 is now closed at Hwy. 65 so they can replace a bridge. It will be closed all weekend and they expect long delays. If you don't like delays
, I recommend you plan your routes to avoid all of the alternate routes as well.

Well, there are several highways that will take you down from I44 to Hwy. 60. My husband suggested you take Hwy. 63 south from Rolla that will take you to Cabool, which is on Hwy. 60. I checked the map and there is also a Hwy. 5 that goes south from Lebanon to Mansfield and that is a shorter trip on smaller highways. Ordinarily, I would have suggested just taking Hwy. 125 from Strafford on I44 south to Rogersville on Hwy 60 but if lines are very long, I guess it could be affected since it is only 5 miles or so east of that affected intersection of I44 & Hwy 65. MO Dept. of Transportation is suggesting the Rolla/Hwy. 63 option at their website: http://www.modot.org/springfield/road_construction/documents/I-44-Route65Detours.pdf (broken link)

Yes I noticed that I-44 and Highway 65 were going to be closed off on my way back from Springfield to St. Louis. Good thing we decided to travel on the 3rd and 4th. Los Angeles bound traffic from New York might want to consider taking 70 instead of 44 just for these three days.
