Are you still beating your wife? Yes or No are the only answers allowed.

Is that a personal attack? sort of, as was your "got ya" question.

But I am not allowed to call you and your buddy (neither of whom are in MO or AR) trolls.

We are done.

Is it actually porn or is it something that goes against your delicate sensibilities?

Lived in MO over 40 years.

Still no answers.

The bigger problem is that most of the people supporting bans have not seen the books themselves and just go with what the Faux pundits tell them to.

So its retaliatory because the ACLU of MO is suing on behalf of librarians? I guess we see what the go-to move will be when anyone defies the Klanned Karenhood (aka "Moms for 'Liberty'").

Wow. The cluelessness of this is just astounding.

It seems that some people on here don't read the thread before making up their answers. Or maybe, considering the clueless and spiteful epithet, attempting to defame patriotic women, they made up their mind by reading Marxist BS, and don't dare dabble in reality.

Looking back at the post I made does make me feel a bit ashamed.
I mean, "its?" I'm usually on top of my its and it's, just like I usually don't have an issue keeping track of there/their/they're or your/you're. And in a thread about libraries of all things!
I'm sure the book-burners would take delight in seeing something so dumb (if they could read, that is). I certainly feel bad for it.

So anyway: The Missouri GOP is de-funding libraries and IT'S retaliatory because of a lawsuit the ACLU and librarians have filed against them.

If you would actually read the entire story, instead of just regurgitating Leftist Talking Points, you would see that there are no "book burners," just people who don't want sexually explicit material in children's sections of libraries (and the list of such material is provided by those who want to put it there).

Second, funding is being withheld (temporarily) because it is a bit insane to fund a lawsuit against one's self and once the lawsuit is settled, I am sure they can resume the debate on what or whom to fund. But one has to, at least, dabble in reality to understand these things, something Leftists cannot seem to do.

This is the first I'm hearing about this, but then again, I'm still relatively new to the state.
Where can I find real information and documentation about what is going on?

Well, some of this is already past.

(Funding was restored to the budget, about a week ago.)

I want to point out that most of the articles I quote are much longer than the quoted part, and I encourage reading the entire articles. Attention must be paid, however, to what conservatives actually say, not what the Leftists pretend they said, since Leftists tend to be liars.

This is where the story begins:
https://www.usnews.com/news/us/artic...-library-books
Quote:
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A new Missouri law outlawing books with sexually explicit images from school libraries is about to take effect.

Starting Sunday, it will be a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail or a $2,000 fine for librarians and other educators to give students access to such material.

The law does not apply to written descriptions of sex or sexual acts; only photos, drawings, videos and other visual depictions are prohibited.

The law defined explicit sexual material as images “showing human masturbation, deviate sexual intercourse," “sexual intercourse, direct physical stimulation of genitals, sadomasochistic abuse,” or showing human genitals.

There are exceptions for anatomy, biology, sex education, art and other images considered educational.
But the teacher's union could have none of that, and so they, and the ACLU sued.

Quote:
The ACLU, the Missouri Association of School Librarians and the Missouri Library Association are asking the Circuit Court in Kansas City to find the law unconstitutional or clarify how and when it applies.

The law was passed as challenges to the content of library books — both in schools and public libraries — have increased across the country over the last two years.
It is all part of the deliberate corruption of children, of course:

A Missouri high school offered prizes to students who read books featuring sexually explicit LGBT material, critical race theory, and transgender education.

The high school librarian in the Webster Groves School District, located in the suburbs of St. Louis, encouraged students to check out books from her commonly banned book list to enter a raffle for a “sweet prize.”

“Select and check out any book from this list during Banned Book Week to enter your name in a drawing to win a sweet prize,” librarian Liz Forderhase posted on the Webster Groves High School library webpage.

“Banned Book Week” was Sept. 18-24. The raffle offer was removed from the school library website after a parent activist exposed it, but the book list remains.
Some Republican congressmen thought it was a bit insane for the state to fund a lawsuit against the state (see what is actually written in the OP's linked article), so they took funding out of the budget. It has, since, been restored (although I am not sure why).
