I posted this several months ago, but since the law has now changed and Midwives are LEGAL.......does anyone know a midwife in the Columbia area???

I'm desperate!!!!!

Tjay I think you'll get better results if you google "midwife", "association", and "missouri". You can try this link: http://www.missourimidwivesassociation.org/
If one of the assns doesn't have a link, then contact them and ask for a referral. You're bound to get a quicker response that way. Think of it this way: less than 1% of the people seeing this post are going to have a baby any time soon, and those of us who've had one in the past have had to do so without the benefit of a midwife, b/c it was only recently made legal. Eventually, over time, you might get a name from here, but you don't sound like you have much time. Good luck and may all go well with you.

I think you were the one I gave a website to months ago on a birthing center in Columbia? I will go see if I can find it again.

They are legal in MO now. They are actually more popular than I would have thought.
