Californians come from around the world....so there are many accents blended together. I moved there from Maine....I didnt hear a CA accent........I did hear a lot of Latino accents.

If you think accents don't exist, you don't have a good ear for it. They're just muted in the metro areas, but they still exist. Plenty of thick accents outside the cities.
