Any recommendations for the best neighborhoods for us - a couple in our mid 40's without children? We'd like an area where there would be more couples between the ages of 45-60. Midtown has it charms, but we noticed a lot of toys and jungle gyms in front yards, which indicated a majority of young couples to us. Plus, my husband seems to prefer West Mobile to Midtown at this point in out lives.

I understand a lot of the houses in West Mobile can be dated. But we've found one built in the 1980's just north of Cottage Hill Road that seems to suit us just fine.

So I guess my other question is: would West Mobile be a good fit for us?

I think West Mobile would be a good fit for you. If you are catholic, you could do the large neighborhood located south of Cottage Hill and east of Demotropolis (forgot the exact name of it).

We're moving from Minneapolis...and the sooner, the better! Looking forward to the Southern Hospitality! Of course, at least one of us needs to find a job before we can actually make the move - but I'm hoping by the end of October we will be down there.
