Was looking at the weather report for Eastern Montana. It says:

Tuesday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow after 11pm. Snow level 2700 feet lowering to 2200 feet. Increasing clouds, with a low around 25. Calm wind becoming northwest between 4 and 7 mph.

2700 ft down to 2200 feet. Isn't that pretty much all of Eastern Montana? I mean, you don't have an elevations that low do you?

Beautiful day here. Was already 40 degrees by 8am. It's now 9 and it's 45 degrees. Weather guessers say we're supposed to reach a high of 43. Hmmmmm. Guess that means the rest of the day is going to be down hill.

I know it took me a while to fully grasp the fact that I was above sea level over here much less at over 2000'
At least the wind seems to have melted off a big chunk of the ice before the next snow.

Wow. I didn't realize that Montana has elevations that low. It's like people on the East coast talk about the mountains in Pennsylvania. Huh? The highest mountain peak is only a few feet higher than the lowest point in Wyoming (that being in the river over by Colony Wyoming).

And we usually think of western MT as having all the highest points, and eastern MT as having all the lowest points, but it's actually closer to the other way around:

Montanakids | Highest and Lowest Points

This is interesting too:
List of U.S. states by elevation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Click the up/down arrow thingees atop each column to sort by that feature.

Montana:
5th highest low elevation
10th highest high elevation
8th highest mean elevation
11th greatest span from lowest to highest point

(assuming I counted little squares correctly)

Here's Montana, peeled out of the big topo map from Wiki:

Been watching the weather and the weather guesser said, "You in a heap a trouble boy." hahaha

Headed for Rapid City in the morning, about 9. Storm watch from 11am til ???? So I'll have this weather front chasing my butt east. Then the following morning I'll turn around and come right back through it. Oh goody goody. haha

One last time. Taking a breather after loading the truck. Just checked the weather and it has now changed to a "Storm Warning" and there are two places that show White on the map. Sheridan and Rapid City. hahahaha From where I start and where I'm going. Don't it figure? But hey, I have good sailing in between. hahahaha Going to visit an aunt later this after noon. Always look forward to that. My mother passed away when I was only 6 mo old. This aunt raised me until I was 6. She's creeping up on 80. Still living by herself halfway between Hill City and Custer. She's got herself 10 acres of heaven. hahaha Most beautiful place I've ever seen.

Anyhow, I'm out the door. Going to stop in town and pick up my son, he's helping drive as my hip won't let me set still for too long at a time. He's 27. Two tours in Iraq. I did a tour in 89-90 called Desert Storm. So we have lots to argue about during the trip. hahahahahaha Damn kid still thinks the 16 is a great rifle. He's never fired a 4. 2000 yards, not a problem for me. He thinks that 200 yards is too far. Go figure. hahaha

i'll be on later today so don't be a thinking you'll get away with anything.
