Just so long as it lets me finish painting my house before it decides to drown us!

As heavy as the clouds are over Helena right now, might want to step on it and get it done!

Of course, we usually have a nice Indian Summer in September/October, but the temps have to stay above 45 degrees for at least 4 hours after painting for the paint to temper.

Good Luck!!

Too late today! Rained all morning. This is my punishment for finally getting the &^#%&*&% siphon going from the ditch, a job that involved 500 feet of garden hose and numerous times dragging one up the hill full of water to restart the durn thing after it decided to quit.

Supposedly will dry out and heat back up around Monday, and then I'll at least get the rest of the 3rd wall done. Still wondering how the heck to REACH the 4th wall, since all below it is a creeping juniper that's bent on world domination (single plant no more than 3 feet tall, but 35 feet across at the widest point!) and where the heck I put the ladder so I don't have a Flying Adventure remains to be discovered. The stucco is so ...textured... that the long-handled roller is an exercise in futility, even if it didn't make my wrists fall apart.

Anyway, at least I've got rid of most of the baby-poop brown... and discovered that midrange Behr paint is MUCH better than top-of-the-line Valspar paint. Covers better and makes a harder surface.

The first bit that I did last week (that wall is now finished, but man, the contrast...)

A little something made for firefighters, but works just as well for anyone in public service.

How cold is it?

In my garden spot, we're enjoying a balmy -17F. At my sister's place near Bozeman, a brisk -25F.

But in Butte, this morning's temperature is reported as "N/A°F", aka "our thermometer froze to death". That's COLD!

Only -22 in Helena. Not too bad.

Got to drive to Townsend to sell a puppy, little worried about the roads because the Hwy depth is going green, so they use solar power to clear the roads. (They wait for the sun to melt them off )

Still, could be worse. Wind chill last night was supposed to be between -35 and -40.

Positively steamy in the barn this morning... a lovely 10 degree sauna! Was dressed for -20 and just about roasted every time I went inside.

Had someone want me to come to Livingston about a puppy this morning, but... no. Can't risk getting stuck away from home. And, my truck has no heat.

We've got one o' them solar road depts here too... for some reason they only plowed one side of the road; the other side I guess they figured gets enough morning sun...

Reziac I have to get to Laurel in the morning, then Billings and back. Judging by past experience, how do you think the roads will be? Will they plow? I'm concerned about drifts with this wind.
