good luck and keep posting.

What places would you consider to be nice for a guy like me in MT (especially central or eastern portions)? Are you referring to Havre, Glasgow, Wolf Point, et al and points north of the hi line?

My mom is 66 and lives in Libby. She moved there about 5 yrs ago and she loves it. According to my mom she says the people there are some of the nicest and friendliest people she has ever met and she feels more at home there than anywhere she has ever lived.
Mom wants me to come back to the states and live with her. I wish it was that easy So, if I win lottery anytime soon.. I may just move there.
Good luck on selling your house.
I currently live in the Netherlands and our house has been on the market for 2 years now.. housing market stinks here too.

Mt-7
My cousin and his partner had moved to Montana a little while before. Then, in 2006 I married and moved to the Netherlands and Mom was alone. The place my mom had worked for did her dirty.. and mom ended up not having a job.. she was alone.. so my cousin told her to move to Montana with him and she did. She also did some private sitting for a little while but now her health isnt so great. Wish I was there to help her.
Mom wants me to come home also but that is easier said than done. I'd have to get a job, prove I could support my husband, do the red tape paperwork for immigration for hubby... etc etc etc.. Takes money... which we dont have. Hubby is also disabled due to stroke a few years back. So as far as him getting a job.. pffft.
I really want to come back to the states. I have tried everything to fit in here... but it hasnt worked yet. I miss the holidays. The Dutch dont celebrate Thanksgiving (totally American thing of course), Halloween, Valentines, there is no 4th of July. I really miss those. Most of all..I miss my mom. I am so homesick.
Mom has shown me the views out the window of her home via her web cam. One evening I saw the deer in her yard!! The views are awesome. My cousin was house sitting for someone on the ***.. he showed me the view from the front porch.. it was absolutely breath taking.
So.. I keep hoping I can win the lottery .. just enough to come back to the states (dont want to be greedy LOL).. buy a small piece of land, build a small home.. and maybe have some chickens and a small garden... somewhere that I can sit outside and enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee and enjoy the view.
Oh and thank you for the welcome message!

Well stop by the porch thread and consider it a home away from home
Has your Mom found any problems with the vermiculite issues there? Housing looks reasonable but I am sure jobs are hard to come by.
We will lift a fork to you on Thanksgiving

Found my way back.. lol.
My mom says she hasnt had any problems with the vermiculite. She has seen the EPA clean some properties and she says they come in with suits on and everything.
Mom wants me to come back and live in Montana... but I am not a fan of really cold weather. (one reason I dont like living here in the Netherlands). I was "wish shopping" for land on the internet.. places like Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri & Tennessee.. some cold but the kind I could deal with. Not to mention land prices are a bit lower.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Turkey Day. Well guess I'll go play Farmville and pretend I really do own a farm..lol
Happy Holidays everyone.
