Yup

Todays high is suppose to get around 50 w/40mph wind or so....

Of course, just right around the corner for Thursday, they're forcasting a high temp of -1 for a high, with -12 being the low.

It's sort of a trade off around these parts... wind blows, warmer temps. Wind doesn't blow, cooler temps.

We're known for some pretty creative and crafty weather here in Montana.
1969 was an interesting year....... April as I recall, when the temps dropped 50 degrees in less than 24 hours and the winds brought the snow, drifting to 20 feet in places with below zero wind chills..... no phones for weeks.

And Montana still holds the record for the coldest temp recorded in the lower 48, at Rogers pass just to the west of us, -70 degrees in 1954, oh, and the wind wasn't blowing on that particular day, so that temp wasn't a wind chill temp... it was the real thing.

If we ever do need such a thing, it's only for a week or less in the summer and most of us can sweat it out! A good ceiling fan and screens on windows and that's all I need in the summer.

Heating...now that's a different subject. Propane, wood and electric are most prevalent. Only in major cities will you find natural gas for the most part, so propane is probably most popular along with electric baseboard and wall fan 1500 watt jobs.
Thanks ladyflyfish for the indepth answers...Thought i seen in the summer time that Billings can get to a 100 ?? thanks !!

harry O, yes, we can all get up to 100 but it never lasts more than a few days or a week at the most.

That is one of the things turning me on about MT, is the cooler summers. Over this last summer here, it was over 100, and closer to about 105, everyday for about a month
