Ok, so I've been checking things out in Colorado and somebody suggested I take a look at Montana.
I've been reading some of the threads here and everybody seems really warm and helpful..
I'm looking to move to a town where I can hunt & fish ALL the time, and not have to drive hours from where I live to do it. This is also what I wanted to focus on business wise as well. Love hunting upland game (pheasants, quail, etc) AND anything with antlers. Lakes and rivers nearby??....even better.
I'm also 40 yo and single, so I wouldn't mind a town where everybody isn't either married or illegal to date.
Ok, I gotta go.. Any input is very much appreciated.
Thanks!!

Check out Fort Benton. On the Missouri River in eastern MT. Should be lots of hunting=especially birds and small game. Relatively short drive to some mountains, too.

There is no place in MT that you can hunt and fish all the time.

Sure you can hunt year round, just not big game animals lol. There are coyotes, gophers, badgers and other vermin

Ok, maybe ALL the time is asking a little too much..
Most of the time???...
I would like to find work at either a gun shop, range, outfitters, or anything like that, but not limited to. I really don't care about having a lot of money. I just want to be happy at work, hunt when I can, and go to a fun pub/tavern when I feel thirsty. NO frills, just good people.

I have to leave los angeles before it collapses unto itself... I can't describe how bad it is here. Well...i can but I'll have to use words that may "offend". Use your imagination...then pour on a truckload of manure, along with a heaping pile of "corrupt", and you'll kind of have an idea..

And let me get this out before anybody jumps to any conclusions and you want to chase me away..
I'M NOT FROM CALIFORNIA (repeat this aloud...it actually feels good!)

Thanks for the input. Any and all is much appreciated!

I would think a bigger city would fit better. I say that because when it comes to gun shops in smaller towns, it's pretty much single person or maybe two running the show.

When it comes to hunting, the smaller towns may have guides, range help excetera, but again, it's small time ownership or volunteer stuff.

The bigger cities have ranges that are paid ranges, gun shops that have multiple employees, guides that work as a team or at least a bank of experience.

I wish you luck. That is an area that I have always been real interested in but the ole body failed on me. When it come time to start really getting into it, I started pushing a walker. Can't do much guide work that way. haha

I have a friend who is a Lion Hunter. He works for several ranches adn takes care of cat problems. Camps up in the tall and nasty for weeks at a time. That's what I love. Just can't do it anymore. But I sure like to talk to him when he comes down.

That would be Minnesota! Or Wisconsin (which is beautiful in the NW area of the state). We are the warriors of hunting and fishing, 10,000 lakes you know. There is a lake everywhere you turn, and the more north you go, the more beautiful it gets (in Minnesota). All those fishing shows you see on cable are just 90 minutes north of here on Milacs Lake.

Every hunter and fisherman wants to live here. And....it's beautiful and really GREEN
