I've heard Stonewall is a nice place, my cousin has played golf there on occasion. Very scenic and clean. I've always wanted to go to Blackwater Falls or Cranberry Glades in the fall, those would make excellent wedding photos IMO.

And as for all your "stats", I live in a planned community of approximately 12,000 in population, about half the Morgantown population. I would guess that unemployment is approx 1%, average household income is probably 100K, and crime is non-existent. I guess if our community decided to incorporate, it would blow away any city in America. But, that's not how it's done. In actuality, Morgantown, counting it's 30,000 unemployed students, has the highest unemployment rate, by far, of any city in WV - take that stat and smoke it - - include students again in your stats
Students are not included in unemployment stats. Being a student is a job. Being an undergrad should be supplemented by a light job, in my opinion. I dont' know why I bother to argue; from reading your posts, it seems you've already made your mind about your opinions. I hope you realize that the statlines you pulled up were regarding Clarksburg - a separate town, in a non-adjacent county to the place you are trying to criticize (Morgantown). Try harder. I don't really care how the economic stats look in Clarksburg or Flatwoods, or whatever southern part of the state you might wish to point at. If it's not Morgantown, it's southern WV: econonomically and socioculturally.

Actually, Clarksburg is not southern West Virginia. It is closely tied to our area economically and is in growth mode too. That poster is using 4 year old data that is long outdated and fails to take the major increases in employment at the FBI complex and the state veterans home into consideration. The FBI organization is still expanding there as is their nano technology research collaboration with WVU. In addition, United Hospital is tied in with WVU Hospitals now and is also expanding, and they are building a new mental health hospital in Clarksburg as well.

Southern In West Virginia starts, both socioculturally and economically, below Sutton.
