Thats what I thought he meant at first also, I had actually posted that same pic lol.....after re-readin the OP though, he means amount of medalists, not total medals...WVU has like 6 Medals by 4 different Athletes (The Italian guy won 3)...but the schools I mentioned all have more medals and by 5 or more different Athletes, so WVU is not tied for 4th...probably more like 7th or 8th....

First game of the season, against an SEC opponent instead of a cupcake like usual.......gonna be a perfect day weather wise....how in the frick is this game not already sold out?! I know it will be come game day, but this is the type of game that shoulda been sold out weeks/months ago......WVU wants to play with the big dogs of CFB, they shouldnt have this problem with a 60k stadium.......

The capacity of UT's stadium is 11% of the city population, capacity of WVU's stadium is 200% of the city population. Should be 18x easier for UT to sell out than WVU. How many games did UT sell out last year? (Hint: the answer is zero).
The cupcake argument is stupid because ALL colleges do it (except Notre Dame for the most part). Missouri is pretty much replacing Maryland on our schedule. We only have one "cupcake" on our schedule this year, unlike a lot of SEC or BIG 12 teams (especially Baylor).
Any way, yes it should be sold out by now, I think it is a mix of multiple things, Missouri is supposed to not be very good and who knows about WVU with all of the injuries and suspensions, not to mention the amount of talent that left for the NFL. Another problem is the side of the stadium that has the majority of the ticket buyers on it is under construction this entire season. They also have raised the ticket prices for season ticket holders to a number that seems to high for some, which leaves tickets for other people. Also some people here have a big problem with Holgerson, I know I have a couple co-workers who refuse to buy tickets until Holgerson is gone. If he has a good season he will most likely be sticking around, but if he has a bad season he is gone.
I really wish WVU was in the SEC or ACC, that way we have more natural rivals and our fan base can easily travel to away games. Big 12 has been good to us and gave us the much needed life vest, but it sure seems like the Big 12 is on its death bed and we make a lot more sense in the ACC or SEC.

I agree UT-Notre Dame should be sold out as well but um, Im not a Longhorns fan though so.......
what a dumb comparison though, first of all you know dang well Morgantown is more than 30k people with students and the other "towns" included....and second, WVU and Marshall are the only two Division one universities in WV, TX has 12....and college football isnt quite as big of a deal as it supposedly is here, because TX has pro teams and of course HS ball in TX everybody knows about as well.....

the cupcake argument is that usually WVU opens the year with teams like Georgia Southern or James Madison, this year its Mizzou, should be a huge draw that everybody was wantin to get tix for all summer....demand should of been through the roof....
