That's exciting! I'm interested in the "fly over lanes" that will be added to connect Chaplin Rd. with Mon Blvd.
I have preached about this for decades. Can you imagine how much better it will be if all of the traffic departing town is able to avoid stopping at the light near Sheetz.

I hope that they are also planning to scoot around the UTC light as well.
The next major need is for 79 to be 6 lanes from the border, to probably past Goshen Rd. And honestly, it might as well be 6 lanes all the way to Nutter Fort. But that's not happening anytime soon.

Someone recently told me that the WVDOH has plans to widen I-79 to 6 lanes very soon, but I believe it’s only from Chaplin Hill Rd to I-68.
I think US-119 should be widened to 4 lanes from Grafton (city) to Greenbag Rd. I think the state underestimates the effects of good infrastructure.
I also think WV-7 needs to be widened through Sabraton to just past Brookhaven.
Fairmont Road also needs to be widened from the I-79 overpass through Westover into downtown Morgantown.
If downtown Morgantown wants to compete with other cities of similar statue with similar growth yet much more vibrant downtowns like Auburn, Chapel Hill, etc I believe the key is making downtown better accessible to I-79. I think what holds downtown Morgantown back is how difficult it is to get to whether it’s from heavy traffic, terrible roads (Westover), or it just being out of the way. Also the homelessness, but that’s more of an awful local leadership issue rather than a cheap state.
Still no word on Petsmart? Its funny cause of all those buildings, they were the first ones to have signage up, and still not open, goin on almost a year now right?
