I've never been to West Virginia, but will soon be doing a stint at NIOSH in Morgantown. Where would be a good place for a young professional to rent? I do not want to be surrounded by WVU undergrads, but at the same time I don't want to have a long commute. Are there any nice apartment complexes near NIOSH?

Call Chestnut Hill (http://www.goldcrestproperties.com/chestnuthill/index.html - broken link) and ask if they have any rooms in the large complex where they put the older adults. It's literally right around the corner from NIOSH and, as you can probably deduce, they house older people in a quieter building. If you have the money, there are condos for sale in the low 100s on 705 called Suncrest Village, too.

When you tour...ask the other employees where the rent...perhaps a car pool exists with an empty seat...
Nice apartment complexes exist all over town...several within walking distance.

That's Chestnut Ridge. Which is also right around the corner. I get them mixed up, too.

Uniontown, Pa. the outskirts. The thing is the terrain...the mountains are east in Preston County...Kingwood would do it for you...
Uniontown and Waynesburg in Pa are getting into the foothills...but a lot of recreation in that Uniontown area and just down the road from the real city...Pittsburgh...

Suncrest Village Luxury Condominiums: Morgantown, WV Rt. 705: Go WebSite Liveā„¢ Are you looking to rent or buy? Suncrest Village are new condos, very nice but expensive also. Don't think you would be surrounded by undergrads. The 1 bedrooms apts are pretty small. Not sure if they are renting any out or just selling them. It would be a very convenient location for you.

The Mountainview apartments at Greystone at Cheat Lake (sits on Mountainview Golf Course) are nice (very pretty and quiet area). I don't know who to contact but try Ann Marie at Howard Hanna Premier Prop 304- 594-0115 or the people at Suncrest Village - the same people own both Suncrest and Mountainview apartments.
The apartments are supposed to be sold as condos as people move out but I think they are still renting some out.
May be too far for you - the Mountainview is about 10 miles from the stadium.
Here's some info on Greystone. Home
