We have completed all our the contingencies in escrow and are now waiting on our lender. They got all of the paper work on Tuesday, Sept 6th. I got an email on Thr about they needed more documentation (bank statements of the earnest checks--I had already sent copies of the cashed earnest checks). Sent an email to the loan coordinator today and haven't heard a peep.
Is this normal? We've had to extend escrow because we were supposed to sign last Wed, but that wasn't possible since the lender didn't get all of the seller's repair paperwork.
We're fist time homebuyers, so we have no idea how long this should take. Our RE agent is appalled at our lender holding all of our paperwork from underwriting until they got all of the repair documents. How long from when your lender had all of the paper work until you were signing?
It is common for lenders to not review a loan until they have a complete package.
It sounds like you are working with a direct bank...first mistake. You will get bad service and dont be surprised if you have to resend stuff again and again.
