Not playing that game has been a good way for me to stay accident free. Just like in an automobile I make it a habit to never ride faster than my skills, reflexes and conditions dictate.
There is pressure to assimilate when you're riding with a goup and I've seen some real bad things happen because someone didn't have a similar riding style.
I got a used 350 Honda in 1980 when I started out. Never regretted letting that little junker take the abuse of my novice riding skills.
Still riding now in my mid-Seventies but with even more increased respect for the dangers. We live in a college town and these days I don't feel ready to go out until the colleges close for the summer. Too many reckless drivers.
