But then, that goes for nearly all great books.

I dont know anyone that shares that logic. I read all three books and watched the Swedish versions of all three movies over a few days time and I am going to see the American version this week and will see the other two as well when they come out.

I always watch adaptions of good books I have read. I enjoy seeing the difference in the art and interpretations of such. Different people interpret books, movies, music, and all kinds of art differently and this is one of the best ways to see those differences and open your mind up a bit.

I agree. I just rented the vid and watched it, not knowing anything about the backstory, any books that inspired it, nor the original versions of it. It was just a movie to watch and I had no expectations going in.

Yes, it was hard to watch. But after watching the rest of the movie... and being ignorant to the "real story" portrayed in the books... I got the notion that she "let it happen" on purpose in such a way to set the guy up with the video taping of the scene and to "get him off her back" for once and for all with the threat of blackmail and the threat of putting him back into a "vulnerable position". Because, let's face facts right? She could have disposed of this "pig effer" the moment he first unzipped his trousers, right?

Now, my favorite scene of the flick comes at about 2:14:10 or something like that where he says, "You know, I was thinking..." and she says, "Just a minute!" How very Brit of him! She's like, "Dude, can I finish???"

I could care less about the plot and all that. Her badassery and MutherEffer-kickassology is what made the movie for me.

But hey, that's just me.
