I don't remember the last Ridley Scott film I really liked. I think it might have been Blade Runner, which is about 30 years ago now. But I'm really excited about this one. Preview looks great!
It has dark, gritty look to it. The planets surface briefly shown has a cold, unemotional feel to it. Looks great. An interesting look into the Alien universe itself.
Watch out for them facehuggers...Wait? whats that skittering sound in my room..wait a minute...its.......... AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH.
Yeah, I hope it has that feeling of dread that Alien brilliantly pulled off. Aliens lacked it but made up for it with terrific action and suspense, and Alien 3 attempted it and fell short (although the new assembly cut is much better).
New trailer out today. There's so much going on in this trailer, so many little details to notice. Space Jockey definitely will be an important part of the film.
This was filmed in 3d (as opposed to being added post-production). So hyped. Going to see this in 3d at an IMAX theater.
I grew up watching the Alien franchise. My dad showed me Aliens first and I loved it! Alien was also brilliant, then I saw Alien 3 which was ok, then Alien Resurrection which was terrible. After that, there were rumors circulating that they were planning to make an Alien 5 that took place on Earth and I face-palmed.
After looking at this, I'm super excited! It definitely goes back to that original Ridley Scott atmosphere of the first film. I'm also glad that they are focusing less on the Xenomorph and more on the whole alien universe and how the series came to be because let's face it, there isn't a whole lot left to tell with the Aliens themselves. If it were just another "Us vs Xenomorph", we'd all have a pretty good idea how the film would play out right now.
