Do movie theatres still give refunds if you leave the movie before the 30 minute mark? I was a box office supervisor in the early 90s as a teenager and we issued refunds if the customer walked out in the first 30 minutes of the feature. Is that still the case?
A couple notable movies that surprisingly, I had to issue several refunds to customers who did not like the film. "Speed" and "Wayne's Word 2".
I'd think that with all the information about movies that is available on the internet, that movie theaters would be much less likely to offer that kind of refund. It's so easy to be an informed consumer that it's really a caveat emptor situation.
Lost in Translation
The Hobbit
Slumdog millionaire
Lost in Translation is one of my all time favorite movies- I like the artistry and dialogue. It a subtle delivery of creative brilliance but thats only the way I saw it. It seems like with that movie, everyone I've asked, you either loved it or your hated it.
I completely agree about Hobbit and Slumdog. Both were sleepers to me.
I don't get the appeal of the Lord of the Rings movieters. I found them to be the epitome of boring when I was forced to watch them with friends in college. After watching the second one I was just itching to hop on a plane to New Zealand so I could punch Peter Jackson in the face.

After the second one, I was itching to take a shower! Everyone from Middle Earth just looked so dirty and damp (with the exception of the beautiful Elf people -- they managed to bathe), and don't get me started on Gollum! I told my friends that I wouldn't be seeing any sequels!
I really wanted to walk out on Lord of the Rings, but I was with a friend and he drove, so I just had to suffer through it. And it didn't help that the damn movie was like 3 friggin hours long! You talk about one restless person that evening, lol. I hate those kind of movies, fantasy, sci-fi, whatever you want to call it, so I knew that I probably wouldn't like, but I went anyways just to give it a shot.
