All of Guillermo Del Toro's movies are like that...horror films with emotion.
Great ending, though. Its all in the interpretation. For my part, she merely went back to her kingdom to live happily ever after with her parents.
Somewhere in Time, oh I LOVE that movie! The music and both Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymor where so beautiful together. Awesome movie and the ending couldn't have been more perfect, even thought it was heartbreaking.
My husband had this on tape and it was our 2nd date in my living room watching this. Cried of course.
So did he.
My husband was also a dead ringer for Christopher Reeve.
Anyone can kill a dog in a movie and make us sad. But Marley and Me took it to a whole new level. A level I enjoyed, as I love when a movie rips me into shreds.
The author of the book and who the movie was based was located in my city. There are scenes that took place locally.
He was a columnist for our local paper and his articles were so real and funny. I was sad when he moved to Pennsylvania (also in the movie).
How about the end scene of 'The Way We Were'? Babs and Robert haven't seen each other for years. She is across the road from the Plaza in NYC, and sees Redford and his new wife get out of a taxi. He glances up, and double takes at Babs. They come together, and speak. Then they embrace. The camera is over Redford's shoulder, looking at Streisand. Her eyes are closed, the music soars........ they part. She loves him with all her heart, but knows they can never be together.......
I saw this movie in a cinema in 1973 with my girlfriend. The lights went up, and the whole cinema was in tears....... even some of the men.
30 years later, my wife and I visited NYC. She made me hotfoot it down to the Plaza. She stood in a certain spot, and said, "oh, this is where my boy Robert Redford stood in The Way We Were....."
