It did put me off a bit. I understand the setting, but Hardy's Max and other characters acted a bit too "feral," leaving you to relate to characters who hadn't totally lost their rocks (Theron and the other new characters). I still enjoyed it as a spectacle. I prefer Mad Max 1 and 2, but Fury Road was about as good or better than Thunderdome.
Hollywood is a big industry and when money is on the line they sure as hell won't say this "epic" movie is...meh. So the reviewers are in the tank like everybody else. Think about that when they review the next Star Wars debacle.
The movie looked over the top and the plot seemed lame and the characters two dimensional. Nowhere near as original as the first two. But I haven't seen it so my opinion doesn't matter a whole lot. But I didn't waste ten bucks seeing it.
I feel like they took that chase scenes out of Mad Max 2 and expanded them into one long movie.
Once they finally got past all the bad guys, I thought, great, maybe a story can develop. But, no, they turned around and just re-did the first half of the movie again!
Mad Max, JUNK, just like so many of Today's movie..........no thought put into the script.
I watched the movie Southpaw with Jake Gyllenhaal, YAWN, how many time can they rehash that tired old story of a downtrodden boxer.............ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

Honestly, I really enjoyed the Mad Max.
I think action scenes of Mad Max are awesome. I have seen this movie three times.
