This looks like it is taking more cues from THE EXORCIST than THE X-MEN, and I'm okay with that.

I've watched this like 10 times so far and several trailer reactions. I'm so there. I can't wait. I'm digging the eerie atmosphere and horror elements. Awesome.

Wow... I’m intrigued. Looks like the cast of Stranger Things are doing well and showing up in more films. I’m quite interested in this.

Now that looks like what The Gifted should be, but isn't.

It is based on "The Demon Bear Saga"...an actual comic book storyline from the New Mutants comic books back in the eighties. And that storyline was pure horror. If the film looks like a horror film with superheroes, it means that they are doing the right thing.

I'm a little disappointed that they aren't doing the new mutants origin story and it seems to not have ties to the Xavier school like the original(they started out as X-men replacements when Xavier thought the X-men were dead and did not have the heart to call them X-men and when the X-men returned they were more viewed as X-men in training until Cable showed up and turned them into X-Force).

But that being said superhero movies and shows did start being more successful when they stopped being superhero shows and movies. meaning they became other genre movies that happened to have people with powers and or abilities.

Like captain America:The first avenger was a war movie, Winter solder was a spy thriller, All the Avengers movies were disaster films posing as a super hero movie. Guardians of the galaxy was a space opera, Daredevil the netflix show was a legal drama, IronMan was a corporate espionage flick, Jessica Jones was a pulp Detective film, Luke Cage was an urban version of "walking Tall" etc etc etc.....

This looks pretty awesome and I'm not a horror fan.
