Loved Mike Meyers in the movie he was great! I think for me I needed longer scenes delving deeper. It had such potential. This review summed it up perfectly for me.

I am happy to read the favorable reviews, we plan on going to see it in a week or so, once the crowds have died down. I love all the rock classics, grew up with them.

My husband & I will definitely be seeing this movie; one of the best concerts I ever attended was Queen at the Lakeland (FL) Civic Center in 1977 my senior year at UF.

No synths!

The movie was fantastic. The casting was fantastic. I will be seeing it again.
There may be some details that were overlooked but the basic message is you feel for Freddie and appreciate the musician and entertainer he was. Great job!
By the way the audience loved it too. Everyone was clapping at the end!

I liked the movie (I love Queen and grew up with them). I just don't think that anyone could ever truly capture the charm and sheer charismatic energy of Freddy Mercury.

I'm waiting to go with my sister Thanksgiving weekend - it had BETTER still be in my crummy local theaters or I'll be pi$$ed! ....but I can't imagine it won't be, right?

I love Queen and worshiped Freddie, so I did love the movie. However, I hope it gets remade with all the disagreements various directors & writers had straightened out. As a true fan, I've seen his bio on various tv channels so there were no secrets. Everyone knows he died from AIDS, so to try and make the film more acceptable by playing it down is ridiculous. Also, in this kind of film I like to get lost in it, but really the only thing I could see was Rami Malek trying to talk without the fake teeth falling out.

I haven't seen it but my friends loved it. How was it played down exactly?
