Made in 2019, it was released in 2021. Set mostly in Fairhope, Alabama (a favorite town of mine)....Where the Teagues actually live
It's Based on Matthew Teague's award winning 2015 essay in Esquire magazine about their (he and his wife's) best friend who got him (and the two daughters) through his wife's cancer diagnosis, her illness, and through to her death. The snippets start early in the Teague marriage (before they have kids....one of which at least is a teen when the wife dies). Nicole Teague is portrayed as a pretty charismatic woman.
Each snippet in time was well done, but I probably would have arranged them differently (a criticism others had as well).
Overall, I thought it was satisfying. I went through that with my mother, with the help of her sisters and some friends, and I thought it was realistic.
It generally got decent reviews, but it bombed at the box office. I think that may have been re the combination of the presentation of the sequence being disjointed, and it is a depressing subject.
I enjoyed seeing update (in text) about how they are doing in life (IRL).

I first saw it in the theaters during its original run, and many times on video afterwards. Outside of a few brief but janky scenes of a model ship flying through the sky, this movie still holds up well visually. Practical physical effects always trumps CGI particularly when it comes to aliens and monsters. This movie looks like something that was made just a few years ago.
Aliens is richly deserving of its statuses as not only one of the greatest sequels ever made, but also one of the greatest movies ever made, period.
C+ for effort. Pretty decent, as much as they can be, for the special effects on gore and a plausible story done in the style of Night of the Living Dead and some decent humor, if in a tragic style. Good for a Friday night, a 4.3.
Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson. Kinda bleh. I dont know why I thought a comic book superhero movie would have substance and depth. I usually don't watch them. I kinda think Brie Larson is terrible actress too.
........Aliens is richly deserving of its statuses as not only one of the greatest sequels ever made, but also one of the greatest movies ever made, period.....
Yeah I might agree. I would go so far as to say that it was better than Alien, though the two movies were different. Aliens definitely had more action (similar to Predator) whereas Alien had more dialogue and acting. The characters in Aliens were military personnel where as in Alien they were scientists.
Kind of flew under the radar but a good Sci-Fi movie. Recommended.
Think I did see it back then or there abouts. While I would take "Solar Crisis" over this one, for others, I would say go for this one over the first. If I recall correctly, "Sunshine" is more to the point with not as much a distracting family background as the first.......but me, it is qualities like that which I lock in on.
