Decent crime chase movie with sci fi tossed in. Decent for late Saturday nite. A 5.0.

It's supposed to be a movie moms can identify with (though I'm not a mom). I love sad/depressing movies & it was on a list I googled. First half was kind of boring but last 20 min were fantastic & I'm still thinking about it. I'm rewatching the last half again today. A fantastic performance from lead actress Azura Skye.

According to the trailer, it won awards at this or that festival......one has to wonder what they are showing at those festivals to keep them going. It is not too terribly bad, good photography, good tinglers of the second, but it is not that good either. For one thing, that site looked in mighty find condition for something abandoned 20 years ago. Still, watched in the right setting, it is a decent passing of the time....once. A 5.0.

Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning. It was nice to see familiar characters from previous movies, and overall a decent enough movie with intense action sequences. But it all seemed so familiar in terms of action movies especially those set onboard trains (bonus points if you guessed there would be hand to hand combat on top of a moving train, one of the biggest cliches about movies with train set pieces). And the movie came in at a bladder bursting 2 hours and 43 minutes. Maybe a few of the reasons why this movie underperformed at the box office this year particularly for a MI franchise movie. And get this, there's a sequel that's coming out in 2025.

Following awards at the San Francisco and Locarno festivals, After Pilkington won the top television accolade in Europe, the Prix Italia. This is a dark comedy, romance, murder mystery with outstanding British cast and writing.

Watched The Family Plan on Apple this weekend, the new Mark Wahlberg movie. I didn't expect much from it, but what a dumb movie.

A Liam Neeson old man action flick The Marksman on ad supported streaming. As a lonely Vietnam veteran protecting a child it seemed inspired by Clint Eastwood's Gran Torino Korean War veteran protecting kids

I saw "Inside" with Willem Dafoe last night. He's an art thief who breaks into a swanky NYC penthouse to steal paintings. It started off good, I love these type films (bank heists, art thieves, etc) but this one devolved into absolutely nothing. I do not recommend this one.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14781036/

Spoiler
He couldn't escape the penthouse, so it became a "try and survive" film. He had very limited water, food or control over the temperature in the apartment. Also, there were some very gross scenes of human waste, etc.
