A movie that has been in the library for the past 30 years. Sort of Northern Exposure meets Kolchak meets The X Files. The first 70% is pretty good with lots of tension building but then, the movie falls apart, slowly at first, but in the end, it has all the continuity of Airwolf meets Iron Eagle. Still, wonderful footage of the An-2 Colt and Panavia MRCA. A 4.5.
I recently saw the movie Requiem for a Dream. I liked it very much, as I think it describes all our addictions very well. And addictions are not only from drugs, but also from television or other things, and this film shows what will happen to us if we don't fight our addictions. I'm also watching a reality series about Ted Kaczynski, do you know him? By the way, does anyone know where I can donload a large volume of the series?
A Brit mystery to just sit back and enjoy for one needs a play list to keep track of everyone. Still, exciting enough....except.....production values slipped a little for it was easy to tell who the killer was by the way they were presented. No evidence but just how they appeared in the story though it is difficult to tell if that was intentional or not because the police don't note it. A 7.3, especially for the violence.

The last part of Requiem for a Dream is too much for me to watch,2 women on the floor while men bet who is going to give in first.
And what the black drug dealer asked Jennifer to perform on him, every mother should be strict with her daughter so it would never happen to her.
I watched "The Man From Toronto" with Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson with my housemates last night. It's a Netflix movie that was just released. Not my choice of movies as I am not a fan of Kevin Hart. I decided to give it a chance because I like Woody Harrelson a lot. Well, I should have gone with my first thought. The writing is horrible. It's not funny. Harrelson does his best with subpar material, but it seemed like he was never sure if he should play the role as a straight up bad guy or with a comedic twist. Hart at last keeps his yelling down, but I never found his character all that likeable. The plot kept getting more and more outlandish until I finally had enough with maybe 30 minutes left to go in it. 2/10
After suffering a brain injury from a bank heist gone wrong, MacDonald develops amnesia and is put into a prison psychiatric ward. Following his seventh year in evaluation, he is coerced by an inmate and a ward doctor to break out of prison and injected with a serum that forces him to relive the life he's forgotten. MacDonald must now elude a local detective, a toughened FBI agent and the drug's dangerous side effects in order to recover the stolen money all while confronting his past.
The plot seems ok, but the movie just drags and grinds on. This is one of Stallone's worst movies.

Pan (2015)
Hugh Jackman, Rooney Mara, Amanda Seyfried
Quote:
Newborn Peter is left on the steps of a London orphanage with a mysterious pan flute pendant by his mother Mary. Years later during World War II, upon learning that the abusive Mother Barnabas is hoarding food for herself, Peter and his best friend Nibs are caught trying to steal the food for the orphans. In the process, they find a letter written to Peter by his mother, declaring her love and assuring him they will meet again "in this world or another".
The movie overall is decent, but miscast with Jackman. He didn't fit well with this movie.
IMHO a writer saw Hook (1991) and thought they could improve it. They failed miserably.
