Keeping with the "vampire" theme from last week. I re-watched "30 Days of Night" which I thought was an awesome premise for a vampire movie. Danny Huston played and looked awesome as a vampire. It's worth a watch if you like the genre.
Recently watched All the Old Knives, with Chris Pine, Lawrence Fishburne and Thandiwe Newton. It was an action-bereft snooze fest. I actually dozed off a few times. When the movie is supposed to be about espionage, don't drag the audience. Do not recommend this one to anyone under 80.
Decent Friday night horror movie. It's like a cross of......only, it isn't but rather, it seems haunted house movies, from this to The Haunting to Hell House to The Shuttered Room to even Nightflyers all pull from the same source and tell the story just slightly different from there. A 6.7.
Well, it is what it is. It does have two things going for it. First, as with most prehistoric movies, many look like they just stepped out of the beauty parlor. Why, it is like Boris Vallejo did half the casting! The thing is, that's in the story line, so it is acceptable. Secondly, while it was a small croc, the fight scenes were pretty good, the croc didn't look fake. A 3.0......for some lonely Saturday nite.

Just out of curiosity - where do you find these movies, to watch them? They are more often than not obscure titles that most have never heard of. They aren't even B movies - I'd call them D movies. I've never seen them on streaming services, nor in DVD/Blu Ray sections of retail stores. So where are you pulling these flicks from?

This reminded me a lot of Roger Rabbit.. a large cast of famous cartoon characters. And the movie devoted a lot of it's energy to referencing (other) famous cartoons, and earlier incarnations of themselves. I thought it was basically entertaining, and I appreciated it's allusions & commentary on other cartoon themes, etc. Even tho there are a lot of references for adult viewers, it's still mostly a movie for kids.. so not much to the plot. Not bad, but it was strange that one chipmunk was animated, and the other was a semi-realistic CGI
