It becomes clear early on that this is an early Bullock flick. A little after Bionic but not too far. Sandra has leading lady credit but she's not a main star of the movie. That said, it's not too bad but it is not that great either. It moves along gently but never really picks up speed. I am not familiar with Gerald Orange but he is the driving force in the flick. Say a 4.0.
Numerous possibilities. First of all, perhaps it just wasn't advertised. Secondly, armed robbery by a military unit movies is a roll of the dice reception. It might go over great like Kelly's Heroes, it might hit a sour note like the back story to the Snow Garrison Special Demolition Unit in The Gun on Ice Planet Zero. On that same note, it might depend on what the current public impression of the military is...heroes & warriors or self serving, selfish jerks? Next, it is outside the realm of a standard war movie. I only saw The Resistance Banker because a brother put it on the TV for me.
It does have at least one thing going for it.....Laurence Fox! Those eyes are staring out from the poster.
Movies, like they say of other things, can be a crap shoot.
Those are some good points. The only reason I know of The Last Drop is that I caught a little of it on one of the Encore channels back around 2007, and something about it piqued my interest. After seeing it, I thought it was sure to be a cult classic. And it's almost Tarantino-esque, isn't it? But, to this day, almost nobody knows about it.
Yeah, I can't even quite tell how he does it. His character was creepy, but he also had sort of a dorky, goofy aspect going on. As I said, I don't know how he pulled it off.
As a movie, it is okay. As a mystery, now looking back on it, I am a little bit lost of how they came to their conclusions. Their pathology is questionable but that can be overlooked. Say a 7.5.
The terrible Fletch sequel.. I still consider the original Fletch a comedy classic.. and I remembered this sequel was lame.. but saw it on Hulu, so rewatched it falling asleep last night.
Filled with idiotic, over the top Southern stereotypes.. a Black man living in a 19th century shack, corrupt & lawless sheriff, a sleazy televangelist.. a small town lawyer who is part Atticus Finch, part Colonel Sanders. This is a 30 year old movie, filled with 60 year old anti-Southern memes.
Patronizing stereotypes aside, most of Fletch's disguises in this one were unfunny & forgettable.
I do love my 80s nostalgia tho..
