Saw The Holdovers last night on Amazon Prime, $5.99

2 hours 20 minutes. No commercials.

Loved it. Paul Giamatti was excellent, as usual. Beautiful setting. Highly recommend it to you.

The movie has five OSCAR nominations: best picture; best actor (Paul Giamatti); best supporting actress (Da’Vine Joy Randolph); best original screenplay; and best film editing.

Thanks for the review. This is one I actually wanted to see in the theater (love Giamatti). Looking forward to seeing it.

I enjoyed it as well. The characters had surprising depth capturing the class differences and the sacrifices made by those at the bottom socioeconomic rung for the benefit of those at the top. A thought provoking comedic movie.

Also loved it. Part The Breakfast Club, part Dead Poet's Society.

It's going on my list of annual holiday movies for sure.

Mike, did you really expect to see any commercials after paying $6 to stream the movie?

We loved The Holdovers. I went to a toney public high school in New England in 1970 and wow they nailed the vibe perfectly.
It was free on Peacock too.
