Leaving Las Vegas, finally.

I can see why Cage won Best Actor for it, his portrayal is certainly up there with Ray Milland in The Lost Weekend or Jack Lemmon in Days of Wine and Roses, but lord it was depressing.

To Live and Die in L.A., one of my faves, on cable yesterday. Seen it half a dozen times, captures me every time it's on.

John Tuturro is one of my favorite actors, which leads to me suggest to you a viewing of 'A Box of Moonlight', 1996.

"Box of Moonlight" is a modern day fable, a cautionary tale reminding us not to allow adulthood smother us. It's a tale told with tremendous charm and a movie to be cherished.

The last three movies I watched were "Middle of Nowhere", "White Lightning", and "The Road".

"Middle of Nowhere" starred Susan Sarandon as the mother of two teenagers, and it was a pretty good film.
"White Lightning" was fairly bizarre drama; a fellow with a history of self-destructive behavior tells his life's story.
"The Road" was a dark film set in a bleak post-apocolyptic world....but the acting and movie sets were truly amazing.

None of these were what you'd call "feel-good" films. But sometimes I like stories that make you think.

Unstoppable with Denzel Washington and Chris Pine. Pretty much non stop action. I enjoyed it. Glad I saw it on the big screen.

He was good, he had me sick at times drinking all that booze.

In the Lost Weekend was that Shirley Booth (Hazel) who played his wife or am I thinking of another movie.

To Live and Die in LA was a great movie, I had never heard of it back when it was released, for those who don't know Wm. Petterson from CSI stars in this and is very good, I don't know why he was passed over for other roles, seems he only got noticed as he got older and cast in CSI which he was great in and now he's gone from that.

I loved the music and opening scene and the car chasing. It was an exciting movie.

I thought "To Live and Die in LA" was fantastic too I agree as I also thought Petersen was a great talent that was under utilized in the movie world. He did have another big roll in a movie titled "Man Hunter" he was a criminal mind type detective persuing a Hannibal Lector based character. Petersen was excellent in that roll as well. To me he was CSI, after he left the show, I the show lost me.

I saw 'The King's Speech' yesterday, and it was exceptional.
